Spok: Fast-Food Chic
In the fashion of bio-gourmet food comes the concept restaurant, Spok. This creative canteen was first developed in 2005 in Marseille by Christophe Juville with the idea that everything should be “simple, naturel and bright.” After a number of franchises opened throughout France, finally in October 2012 Spok came to Paris.
With a raw-industrial interior design, guests are invited to take their meals out or to eat in on the large wooden community-style dining table. The open kitchen, community dining and free expression wall provide a space for meeting new people and allow for new encounters.
The welcoming atmosphere is half due to the luminous ambiance provided by the constellation of light and also to the excellent music (personal bias) that is carefully handpicked to be uplifting, energizing and meant to translate an urban culture vibe. Paula and Delphine, the two women who opened Spok in Paris, lend themselves to the friendly environment, which has transformed Spok into a neighborhood favorite.
At Spok, there is an emphasis on “good eating” and all things homemade with natural food that is not processed as well as food that has very low fat content. In addition to the high quality food, Spok is dedicated to using biodegradable packaging and cutlery.
The menu is composed of a variety of creative sandwiches and delicious salads, like the My Favorite Salad: spiced Japanese rice, avocado tartar with sesame seeds, tomato and chive tartar, tuna tartar, peanuts and cilantro- yumm, as well as hot plats and always a ‘plat du jour,’ which can be anything from Curry Tobago to the Killer Burger (every Thursday!) Even the drinks are creative with fresh juices, smoothies and detox remedies.
Spok is open 9:30am until 4:00pm and is the perfect spot for a quick, healthy bite while on the run. For the menu and more information visit HERE.
