Modern Furniture by Seung Yong Song
These days South Korea is no longer in the shadows of its bigger more powerful neighbors. Korean culture is spreading across the globe faster than Psy’s next k-pop hit and Korean interior designers are jumping right on the bandwagon.
Designer Seung Yong Song has recently developed a simple yet contemporary series of furniture and lighting pieces entitled “Dami.” Dami, in Korean, means “put in,” so everything is modeled around the concept of fitting in, either with other pieces of the collection or with any given room.
Seung Yong Song has used an eco-friendly method to develop a very sturdy, lightweight grill design. He has used a CNC processing technique combined with Valchromat, an eco-friendly wood fibre material that has been colored throughout the entirety of the piece.
The result is a modern industrial look that could sit quietly on the side of a room or act as the key focal point depending on its location.
Three words best describe the series, simple, elegant and tasteful.
