Claudine Ivari A/W13
Tuesday February 28th, Claudine Ivari presented her latest ready to wear collection for Autumn/Winter 2013. With her beautiful Avenue Marceau showroom as the backdrop and suave mixes including Deep Mind and Matt Krees on the speakers, Ivari displayed her newest designs to an intimate crowd of family and fashionistas.
The models were styled with long sleek ponytails, dark purple lips and a nude eye carefully constructed to complete the elegant yet dark theme inspired by the Countess of Castiglione.
The most striking looks of the evening were the intricate lace detail cape, the sheer scalloped edge lace black dress and the sheer black shirt paired with a floor length velvet skirt and black leather belt.
The influence of Ivari’s muse is clear, the chandeliers and mirrors throughout the carefully decorated room were synonymous with the collection in celebration of the seductive woman who at the same time is elegant and refined. The Countess of Castiglione is most famous, or infamous, as the mistress of Napoleon III of France and also rumored to be a secret agent. This scandalous tale of decadent days gone by gave a magical feel to the whole show and gave the clothes a theatrical feel.
Despite the brand being in its early days, with her fashion house opening in 2009, Ivari is competing still with the most established, her collection showcasing perfectly her inherent style and her ability to dress real women.
