Sean Parker: Agent of Disruption

Sean Parker has been called many things from “tech’s agent of disruption” to “genius,” whatever you may think of the guy one thing you cannot deny is that he is an extraordinary hardworking man on a mission to change how we use the internet. Forbes’s Steven Bertoni recently entered the world of Parker to dig deeper into the life of one of the most fascinating and exciting personalities in the tech industry.

Bertoni’s account of Parker is one of a contagiously energetic visionary who is out to change the world. Parker’s daily routine is packed with meetings, developing startups and attracting investors to his new ideas. As a founder of Napster, Facebook and Plaxo, Parker is fiercely competitive.

When Steve Jobs, former CEO of Apple, resigned Parker immediately stated “We can come to look upon the deaths of our enemies with as much regret as we feel for those of our friends, namely, when we miss their existence as witnesses to our success.” This caused an uproar in the tech industry, with many complaining of Parker’s insensitivity as it was wildly know that Steve Jobs stepped down as CEO due to health problems.

With all his antics and entrepreneurial spunk, Parker has managed to build a fortune estimated to be $2.1 billion, not bad for a 31 year old who seems to be a the apogee of his career. To read more on Bertoni’s interview with Parker click here.
